Polaroid 8mm video camera for parts or repair

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!!!!!!!!
Offered is a very rare 8mm video system (Model P8-C1) from Polaroid which was never offered commercially. It was test marketed in Florida in the mid 80's and my sources say only 500 units were produced by Hitachi, one of which I purchased new at the company store when I was employed with that great company.
Unfortunately, this unit doesn't  work probably because of worn/disintegrated rubber belts and the ni-cad batteries can't hold  a charge. All the 'guts' are in the camera which doubles as the playback device. The deck only provides power for the push button controls for play back and the like along with two charging bays for the ni-cad power cells. The deck has no moving parts although it has a hinged cover which can be removed very easily but can be left in place during playback if you wish.
Included in this auction are three ni-cad cells which are probably worthless since they can't hold a charge (from what I can determine). One of the power cells is installed in the camera handle which would provide power for the video camera (if it worked).
There is a cassette still in the camera which I can't eject because of no power so I can't say how many minutes it is but it is either 90 min or 120 min based on the empty boxes I still have. I also have a 90 minute cassette along with a 30 minute 'Tips& Techniques' training video which comes included with this system

The video camera has a 1:14/95 –57 power zoom lens with macro capability.
